FAQ

Is it dangerous?

All exiting activities can involve some risk, but we do our outmost for you to be as safe as possible. Our guides is in a own class, with qualifications and experience we claim can\t be surpassed by any other rafting company!

There has not been a serious accident with commercial Norwegian companies on the Sjoa river since 1993. The most critical accident in Heidal Rafting since then has been a bone-fracture – on shore!

For us here at Heidal Rafting safety always comes first, and with Norway's best qualified guides(check the safety section) you are always in safe hands.

Are we insured?

We have insurance that covers damages that we are responsible for. In addition most travel insurance covers our activities, check with your insurance company. It is also possible to draw an extra insurance here with us (Gjensidige) at 60,- kroners pr activity.

How many is there room for in one raft?

Normally there is 4-6 guests and one guide in each raft, but we can have many rafts on the river at a time, so if you are a group of 90 people that won’t be a problem.

Will there be taken pictures from the trip?

There will be taken pictures from all day- and afternoon trips through Heidal. In the Aaseng-canyon and on the family trips we can arrange picture upon recuest and with the reservation that we have enough capacity. The pictures will be shown after the trip while enjoying a cup of coffee and it is up to you if you would like to buy them or not.

It is an own company, Outdoor Photo, who takes the pictures and sells these and payment will have to be done separately from the activities.

I have a special disease, can I raft as well?

Yes most likely there will be no problem
, but the trip leader needs to be aware of this in advance so they can act correctly if something were to happen.

Diabetes, asthma or other chronicle conditions are no problem, but as said before; tell you trip leader or guide in advance.

Earlier we have rafted wheelchair users, deaf people using a translator, blind people and vision impaired, heart- and lung patients and many other customers with challenges and disabilities.

Everything is possible, as long as you plan in advance!
